How to Get your Jewellery Back to Life
Fashion
or artificial jewellery has been quite
the rage for the past few years. Women find it comfortable, practical and
affordable to buy fashion jewellery online and
have quite a collection of it. The only glitch here is that fashion jewellery can get tarnished quite easily. Even
oxygen, sweat and droplets of water can spoil it.
Let
us look at a few techniques through which we can try to bring our favouritejewellery
pieces back to life:
1. Lemon Juice
–Soak your tarnished pieces in a mixture
of one part lemon and one part lemon juice for around ten to fifteen minutes.
The dirt and grime will dissolve after a whileand the jewellery pieces will get its shine back.
2. White Vinegar
– Soak your jewellery is a mixture of
white vinegar and water and then gently brush it away softly. Your jewellery pieces will shine in no time. Olive
oil is another product that has similar properties.
3. Toothpaste
– This is one of the most easily available ingredients,
and it can make your jewellery shine in a
jiffy. Apply the toothpaste on a soft brush and gently brush your jewellery with it. Ensure that you do not use
gel toothpaste.
4. Baking Soda and Salt
– Wrap a sheet of aluminum foil around a
plate and mix one tablespoon of baking soda and salt into one cup of warm water
and pour the mixture into the foil. The jewellery must be placed on the plate,
and the chemical reaction will clean off the dirt.
Although
the above tips and tricks can be used to clean jewellery,
the most effective option is proper storage. If you store your jewellery properly, the longevity automatically
increases.
